Video Time Capsule

I just stumbled across this video, which I recorded 12 years ago.

I may not remember making this video, but I clearly did.
I may not have spoken Spanish perfectly in it, but I tried.
I may not have felt confident about what I was teaching, but I acted like I did.
I may not be young anymore but I feel young on the inside.
I may not know where I’ll be 12 years from now, but I’m sure it will be fascinating.
I may not be alive then, but then again I probably will be.

This video was filmed in my bedroom in Guatemala City. That era of my life feels like lifetimes ago and in a way, it was. This was filmed before I was a partner, before I was a mother, back when I was single and a schoolteacher. It reminds me of how long I’ve been practicing this yoga and writing thing. I see how I’ve changed physically and I hear how my voice has stayed the same.

I didn’t mean to find this video, and I’m not even sure how I got to it, but here it is. It was private (password-protected) all this time, so no one has ever seen it (except me).
