all you need is metta

If there is a god
I thank god
for this breathing in
and out
for this heart pumping
relentless
never stopping
for this fear
that reminds me I’m humbly alive
for this pain
that I suffer
as everyone does
for this attachment
the clinging to hopes, beliefs, biceps

for this love

this love
this green bed
this full moon
this peace of mind
this too shall pass
I recall
nothing is ever still, really
knowing all this
and still breaking my heart open
with attention to the minute minute
with love ‘n’ kindness:
this is metta.
